Debra Wilkes Gray is a freelance photographer based out of Corozal Town in northern Belize. She has spent many years documenting the people in her community. Her photographs have been published internationally in Canada, the United States, Italy, and Belize. Debra's work includes a wide range of subjects. Her skill to combine visual information with the art of photography produces powerful images.

Born in 1965 in Canada, Debra first came to Belize in 1992. She fell in love with the country and its people, who are so "rich in spirit." Debra is passionate about her life in Belize. She says, "There is an innocence here that no longer exists in North America. Belizeans are very much connected to one another, whether it's your neighbor or a stranger passing you on the street, salutations and conversation is the norm. The rhythm of life forces you to slow down and absorb all that surrounds you."

Debra is the visual arts coordinator for the Institute of Creative Arts (ICA), Corozal Committee, under the umbrella of the National Institute of Culture and History (NICH). In 2009, she launched the successful monthly event, Art in the Park, where she is dedicated to the promotion and development of artists in her community.
